🔍 Program Details
The scholarship position is housed within the Department of Animal, Veterinary and Food Sciences at the University of Idaho’s College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. Research activities will primarily be conducted at the Nancy M. Cummings Research, Extension and Education Center (NMCREEC).
The successful applicant will:
- Lead a team of students and seasonal technicians.
- Collaborate directly with cattle producers and land management agencies.
- Engage regularly with faculty, researchers, and stakeholders.

To be considered, applicants must:
- Hold (or be near completion of) a Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Possess excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to conduct fieldwork in remote, rugged conditions.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and adaptability to varying weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in vegetation monitoring, livestock handling, GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, onX), or ranching.
- Demonstrated history of scientific publication, grant writing, or presenting research to stakeholders.
- Familiarity with rural living, ATV/UTV and 4WD vehicle operation, and trailer towing.
