Women from around the globe are invited to apply for the IMD Backpack Excellence Scholarship Award. This scholarship is designed to support women in developing the leadership skills necessary for success in business and public life, helping them to achieve their leadership aspirations.

The scholarship seeks to offer a transformative opportunity to bright and driven women who lack the financial resources to pursue a master’s degree.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the IMD Backpack Excellence Scholarship 2024, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Demonstrate excellence in previous academic and/or professional endeavors, including GPA (or equivalent) and GMAT/GRE scores.
  • Convince IMD of their ambition and ability to use their education to pursue a leadership role.
  • Show career progression and international exposure.
  • Exhibit the ability to contribute to the overall learning experience of the class.
  • Perform well during the Assessment Day.
  • Submit an essay: “Tell us how, as a displaced woman, an MBA at IMD will be transformative for you and indirectly for other women in your community, and what are your main learning objectives.” (500 words).

Priority will be given to talented and driven women who may have believed that an MBA program was out of reach due to limitations and disruptions in their professional path. These may include family obligations, forced migration, and financial constraints.


How to Apply for the IMD Backpack Excellence Scholarship

Interested applicants for the Backpack Excellence Scholarship for Women should complete the Scholarships and Bursaries form, which is located in the Financial Planning section of the MBA application form.

Please note that while you may apply for multiple scholarships, they are non-cumulative, meaning you will only be selected for one scholarship.
