Government agrees on 15% COLA with organised labour effective July 1

 After an ever changing between striking trade guilds and government the two gatherings have now settled on a 15% Cost of Living Allowance to be paid to all open area laborers.


It produces review results from July 1, 2022.


Prior JoyNews' sources said the reason for defer in settling on a rate was irregular council gatherings on proposed rates close by.


With this arrangement, all arranged modern activities have been suspended right away.


"The Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) will be paid at a pace of 15% of base compensation. That the powerful date of the installment of COLA is first July 2022, " Employment and Labor Relations Minister, Ignatius Baffuor Awuah declared at a press instructions on Thursday.


This was the third gathering between the public authority and worker's organizations since the interest for COLA began.

The appointment from the public authority side was the Minister for National Security, Albert Kan-Dapaah, Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Adutwum, Minister for Employment and Labor Relations, Ignatius Baffler Awuah and Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Attah along with his Deputy Abena Osei Asare.


A gathering between the two players on Tuesday was dismissed because of the refusal of some worker's guilds to cancel their strike before talks initiate.


"We have needed to dismiss the gathering on the grounds that the two players; work and government imagine that we can't do this while a party is protesting, so the understanding is that we are heading out to converse with one another. They cancel the strike and we come back again to meet," Deputy Minister of Employment and Labor Relations, Bright Wereko-Brobbey told Joy News.
