The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has given the go-ahead for the Party to hold its Branch Elections.

The appointment of officials to lead the Party at the Branch level is the primary leg in the series of inward appointment of the NDC.

Per the rules, which were endorsed by FEC at its gathering on July 12, 2022, the decisions have been separated into four zones - Northern, Middle, Southern, with the Ashanti and Eastern areas making up the fourth zone.

The Northern Zone contains Northern, North East, Savannah, Upper East, , Upper East, and Upper West areas.

The Middle Zone comprises of Bono, Bono East, Ahafo, Western, and Western North Regions, though the Central, Oti, Volta, and Greater Accra areas comprise the Southern Zone.

"The two greatest locales, Ashanti and Eastern will be the last to do theirs… Nominations will open from 23rd to 24th August, 2022, and their races will be from 28th August to third September, 2022" he said.

Mr Nketia said the division would assist the Party with overseeing the decisions completely and guarantee that the interaction was free, fair, and straightforward.
